Sensasian is a festival of events celebrating South Asian culture locally, produced by Appetite and New Vic – and taking place at New Vic too.
Here’s some details of events you can support and enjoy…
- 9th July – DESI CENTRAL WITH SUKH OJLA – Sukh is a comedian, actor and writer. Her comedy has featured on BBC2’s Big Asian Stand-Up Show and the BBC Asian Network. And with numerous credits across BBC and Channel 4, film and theatre Sukh is a familiar face to many. And there is even more comedy from Desi Central whose line-up of fresh comedians pride themselves on appealing to audiences of all backgrounds.
- 10th July – ROSHNI BY SONIA SABRI COMPANY – A close-up and intimate performance of dance and live music played on traditional South Asian instruments; inspired by the stories of everyday people.
- 12th July – JADOO BY BEN HART – World-renowned, multi-award-winning magician and west-end star Ben Hart returns to the stage with Jadoo – his most personal show yet. Drawn from his experience of travelling India to discover lost, real magic, Hart sheds his usual sleight-of-hand trickery and lies in favour of stunning displays of wonderment, mysticism, extra-sensory power, and a search for the truth…
- 13th July – FREE FAMILY FUN DAY – Enjoy a range of performances and activities suitable for all ages, no booking required – drop in at any time! Performances will be as follows:
